Encore….Creamfields

Encore

This weekend the curtain will unfortunately come down on Wingman’s summer festival tour, but what a show it has been. A set list like no other; from the raucous opening of Download to the youthful, contemporary sound of BeachBreak and Wakestock, on to the energetically fuelled beats of Global Gathering and most recently the crowd pleasing, ‘sing-along’ anthem that was V Festival.

But this analogy is incomplete, the greatest acts don’t walk off stage and never return, they come back to indulge and savour the moment, they return better than before to momentarily raise the roof one last time.

The hottest Dj’s on the planet will make Daresbury their temporary home this weekend for the biggest dance festival in the U.K. Boasting the perfect mix of International superstars and the ‘yet to be discovered’, the critically acclaimed and the chart toppers, this weekend is a mash up of the best dance music you can think of.

So for one last time we will pitch up our tent, we will dance with the masses and we will spread the word of Wingman.

The summer may be coming to a close but like every great set its time to bow out with a bang.

It’s time for the encore. Ladies and gentleman….  it is time for Creamfields!

V Festival

Bring on V Festival

The union jack logo is the obvious connection but beyond that, there has always been something very British about V festival. So it is somewhat fitting that in a year filled with British celebration and achievement, that this years line up showcases some of the most influential and iconic British bands, this glorious nation has ever produced.

The swag filled vocal of Ian Brown singing ” I am the resurrection” will never ring so true as The Stone Roses continue their comeback as V Festival headliners.

Just before we indulge in late 80′s nostalgia, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds take to the stage to confirm that there is life after Oasis and that Noel still has the uncanny knack of writing songs that define a time.

If that isn’t enough of Great British music for you then fear not as Madness, Happy Monday’s, Human League, Tom Jones and many more British acts grace the stage over the weekend.

It’s not all just about the best of British though, as the other headline act this weekend are possibly the biggest band from across the pond, The Killers. With singalong hits including Mr Brightside and Human, The Killers are guaranteed to put on a half decent show.

So there we have it, the recipe for this years V Festival. Take a generous helping of Great British music, add a dollop of America’s finest, throw 100, 000 people in to the mix and compliment with a sprinkle of laugh out loud comedy (Comedy Tent) for good measure. But there’s one ingredient we cannot list, one ingredient we cannot describe, the intangible, complete unknown spark that makes V Festival the hottest Festival this summer.

In Wingman We Trust. Enjoy

Global Gathering…we’re coming

Global Gathering

No introduction needed, it’s time for Global Gathering.

Global is the fourth festival we’ve attended this summer and (fingers crossed) it seems that word ‘summer’ may finally have substance with blue skies and beaming sunshine predicted.

However we have learnt to expect the unexpected, so wellies, raincoats and thermals still make the cut when it comes to packing.

But for those heading to global this weekend the weather is just an irrelevant variable which may be able to dampen clothes but can do very little to dampen spirits.

Unlike the traditional 3 day festival format, Global is only over 2 days but you can be sure the drinks will be flowing more, the headaches will be as severe and the partying will be as huge as any 3 day festival.

Headline acts this year are Tinie Tempah and Chase and Status and whilst they are sure to put on incredible show’s Global offers so much more.

Global is the platform for electronic music, it is the stage in which underground acts get to showcase their talent to a massive audience and a festival that doesn’t rely upon mainstream headliners. They are not judged on record sales, facebook likes and chart success but judged on their ability to capture the imagination of the crowd and to create a mood that will always be remembered.

And for that Global we salute you.
